I found some stuff on my computer – and maybe someone out there needs it…

First of all a Mediawiki-Extension programmed by Jan, Benedikt and me.

Wiki-Filebrowser

See the README for a list of features, install instructions etc.

Download it here.

I appreciate any remarks!

    Hi!
Sorry the file-server has to be a *nix system (Mac, Unix, Linux)…

I was trying to get this extension plugged to my mediawiki but am not able to.I used ‘filebrowser’ tag in my file where HTML is rendered but when i see the firebug console, the filbrowser tag is disabled. I don’t know what could be the issue. My server is on Linuxand that’s where i want file browsing to be enabled.

Vielen Dank für diese feine Extension. Wenn sie doch nur funktionieren würde.

was meinst Du z.B. mit “Configure the top of the FileBrowser.php and the browse-config.php”?

Desweiteren mit “Put the browse.php and the browse-config.php on the *nix server where the files will be hosted”?

Ich bin ein alter Sack und mit der Meiawiki noch nicht so vertraut. Konnte aber schon alle extensions installieren, bis auf Eure.

    Für Hilfe wär ich dankbar.

    Uwe

Thanks for this pretty cool extension !

It’s working fine, but the README & filestructure in the .tar does not correspondent…maybe that’s why some people have problems with it.

    My Question:
    ============
Is it possible to use the “search” in Mediwiki to find the files we are listing with your extension ?

I do not mean content indexing…just finding the filenames…

    Probably difficult, isn’t it ?
    Any ideas or alternatives ?

    Thanks in advance,

    MCm

    hi everybody,

i´d really like to use the extension but i am struggling with it and i just can not figure out what exactly the problem is. When i use the extension i will get the frontend but that´s it. At the top of the page i get Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/lib/mediawiki/extensions/FileBrowser/FileBrowser.php on line 133

i looked into it and as far as i would say, in this line it is only been referred to the url from line 2!? please correct me if i am wrong. In the url i put http://www.egonetix.de concidering that this i my wiki hp. What is it that i don´t see?

thanks for your help in advance.

sorry. the url does not link to line 2 in the filebrowser.php it links to line 6. Another thing is, what kind of password is required?

  12. Max sagt:

    Hey Robert!
So you put the browse.php and the browse-config.php on the Linux/Unix server where the files will be hostet?

The password you set yourself in the browse-config.php

Make also sure the $cfg_fb['url'] is set correctly.

If you still have troubles you can write me a detailed describtion (where you put what file + your configs and error messages) via mail.

Can take some time to answer though…a bit stressful here at the moment.

thanks a lot max. I will send you a mail at webmaster@mixed-it.de with details. I think that is the easiest way. It is gonna be in german, not realizing that this is a german projekt and a german site when i first posted comment LOL ^^
